Dorothy H. Anson, age 81, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Genoa Community Long Term Care. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Visitation is 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. with a 10:15 a.m. Family Prayer Service at the church. Burial is in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.

Dorothy H. Anson was born November 8, 1925 near Tarnov, Nebraska to Carl and Elsie (Hoeffelman) Streblow. She attended District #41 near Tarnov and graduated from Humphrey High School in 1943. On June 14, 1948 she was united in marriage to William L. Anson at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humphrey. The couple lived briefly in St. Louis, MO, Creston and Madison, NE before moving to Columbus in 1953. Dorothy worked for 1 1/2 years at Swift's Cold Storage. She then worked briefly at Dale Electronics then at Becton-Dickinson for 26 years until retiring in 1988. This June the couple would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary. Dorothy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, bowling, Nebraska Football and casinos.

Son: Alan (Jami) Anson of Genoa, NE
Sister: Melvy (Leon) Meyer of Wayne, NE
Sister-in-law: Lois Streblow of Columbus, NE
Eleven Grandchildren
Three Great Grandsons
