Isabelle died Monday, February 12, 2018 at her home in Columbus.

Isabelle Helen Micek was born July 28, 1922 in Shelby, Nebraska to Thomas Adolph and Julia Lucy (Triba) Micek. She attended grade school in Polk County and high school at Kramer High in Columbus. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from St. Louis Institute of Music in 1943 and her Master of Music in 1972 with post-graduate work at Peabody Conservatory. Isabelle was a teacher of instrumental and vocal music in elementary and secondary schools at Hull, Illinois from 1943-1945, at Oakland, Iowa from 1945-1946 before becoming a private teacher of piano, voice and theory at Columbus in 1946. She served as church choir director, organist and professional accompanist from 1946-1951. She was president of the Columbus Community Concert Association Emeritus from 1965-1967 and a recipient of the Medallion of Merit Award, Art Publication Society in 1957. Isabelle was also a member of the Emeritus Music Teachers National Association and the Nebraska Music Teachers Association where she served as president. She was also involved with the Guild Piano Teachers and the Nebraska Summer Music Olympics. Isabelle received foreign music scholarships for summer work at the University of Mexico; the Conservatory of Music in London; Staatlichen Hochschule Fur Musik in Munich; St. Cecelia Conservatory of Music in Rome; Manual de Falla Conservatory in Buenos Aires and numerous workshops both here and in Canada.
Other honors include Who's Who of American Women; International Who's Who; The Worlds Who's Who of Women; Who's Who in American Music; Notable Americans; Personalities of the West and Midwest and American Keyboard Artists. She completed research on History of Keyboard Music to J. S. Bach. Isabelle was a Democrat and a Roman Catholic having been a member of Perpetual Adoration Society for many years and an auxiliary prayer member of the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by:
