Funeral Service
10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church
Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home

Visitation
Visitation is Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and continues Thursday morning from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home.

Interment
Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Floyd "Sid " Mason, age 75, of Columbus, died Monday, January 7, 2008 after a brave battle with cancer at the Cottonwood House in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Weisbecker will officiate. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and continues Thursday morning from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Sid was born on May 16,1932 in York, NE. He graduated from York High. Sid went on to University of Nebraska - Lincoln where he graduated in 1954 with a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he married Jackie Micek and then served in the Navy. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant for 2 years. In 1957, after serving our country, they resided in Columbus where Sid was employed by Dale Electronics as Personnel Director. Sid retired from Dale after 35 years, as Sr. Vice President.

Sid was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Elks Country Club, American Legion, VFW and was a past Board Director of Platte College.

Sid is survived by his darling wife: Jackie of Columbus, sons: Steve (Becky) Mason of Columbus, Scott (Patti) Mason of Bartlesville, OK, daughters: Dr. Sue (Dale) Greenwald of Kearney, Sandi (Jay) Burgess of Overland Park, KS, Sheri (Matt) Robertson of Lincoln, sister Joyce (Don) Maronde of York. Also, 5 wonderful & talented grandkids Lee, Anna, Sean, Christopher & Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Eva Mason of York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Scotus &/or St. Bonaventure school
