George F. "Nick" Rambour III, age 84, of Columbus, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the family lake home in Columbus

George Francis Rambour III was born March 13, 1930 in Columbus, Nebraska to George and Ellen (Nichols) Rambour. He lived his entire life in Columbus. Nick was a fifth generation Columbus native. Nick attended St. Bonaventure Grade School and graduated from Columbus High in 1948. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1952. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. Following his discharge in 1955 he returned to Columbus and joined his father at Rambour Realty where he was employed until his death. Nick was active in the community serving on many boards, including the city council for two terms. In 1957 he married Lenore Winkelman at St. Bonaventure Church. They have four children, George, Michele, Michael and Renee. He enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, hunting, and following his grandchildren in their activities.

Grandchildren: Brooke Cemper, Louie Rambour, Ellen Hagemeier, Tom Rambour, Rachel Rambour, Mary Kate Rambour, Sam Scott, Ben Scott, Payton Scott
Great Granddaughter: Lenora Cemper
Sister: Ruth Duignan
Cousin: Judy Hemberger
and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents: George F. Rambour Jr. and Ellen Nichols Rambour, sisters: Joan Melville and Nancy Graham
