Denise E. Rood of Genoa died Saturday, August 25, 2012 surrounded by her family at Columbus Community Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
Denise Evone Rood was born March 15, 1954 in Genoa, NE to Don and Alyce (Umbarger) Fisher. Grew up in Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School in 1972. Denise worked at Genoa High School, Vishay Dale Electronics, and for the past 15 years at Lindsay Manufacturing. Denise raised three children. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. Denise enjoyed woodworking, playing/coaching softball, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by: Daughter Erika (Dave) Kunes of Genoa Daughter Lindsey (Chad) Liebig of Monroe Son Chad (Sara) Rood of Waverly Parents Don and Alyce Fisher of Genoa Grandchildren: Ashley and David Kunes, Piper and Braeden Liebig, and Caleb Rood Brother Brad (Linda) Fisher of Kearney Brother Clay (Marsha) Fisher of Leigh Nieces and Nephews
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Bertha Umbarger, and Herman and Lillian Fisher
