Alice Moss died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska.
Alice C. Moss, the daughter of Joseph A. and Anna (Widhalm) Loeffler, was born October 8, 1924 in Lindsay, Nebraska. The family moved to Columbus when she was 3 years old. She attended St. Bonaventure Grade School and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1942. Following graduation, she worked for Consumers NPPD. Alice was instrumental in bringing the Goodwill Industries into Columbus in 1952, she was their representative for many years. Alice married Robert L. Moss on November 30, 1946 at St. Bridget Church in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1950 she contracted polio and was in the hospital for 6 months. In 1956, Alice was selected as the Nebraska State Polio Mother of the Year. Alice was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, past member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Bonaventure Ladies Guild, the V.F.W. Auxiliary for over 60 years, the Legion Auxiliary and bridge club, and Navy Mothers Club of Nebraska. She enjoyed her family, friends, attending friends of music events, working on crafts, and playing bridge.
