Alice D. Novak, 96, of Columbus, formerly of Platte Center passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Alice will be sadly missed by her sons, Jimmie, Billy, and Gary: as well as her daughter-in-laws Karen (Billy) and Connie (Gary). Alice will be lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members.

Alice Dorthea Novak was born May 26, 1913 in Colfax County to Claus and Grace (Tiedemann) Stoltenberg. She was united in marriage to Emil J. Novak at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church (Dodge County) on June 4, 1935. In 1947, Alice and Emil moved to Platte Center where they farmed until retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and visiting with others. Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Platte Center and the Ladies' Aid.

She is survived by:
Son: Jimmie Novak of North Bend, NE
Son: Billy (Karen) Novak of Columbus, NE
Son: Gary (Connie) Novak of Columbus, NE
Sister: Doris Geiser of Platte Center, NE
Eleven Grandchildren Thirteen Great Grandchildren

She is preceded in death by:

One Daughter-in-law
Two Great Grandchildren

To her friends, and most of all, the dedicated patient care givers who cared for Alice in the last years of her life, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. All of you have been an extended family to Alice. You all know who you are and what a valued part you played in her life.

May you now rest in peace Alice, in the gentleness of God's arms and let him take you home.
