Verona Ebel of Columbus died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at her home in Columbus.

Verona Ebel was born December 10, 1922 in Bellwood, Nebraska to Rudolph and Tena (Flaxell) Janicek. She was raised in Butler County and attended Kramer High School. On May 7, 1941 Verona was united in marriage to Harold Ebel at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. The couple lived in Gulf Port, Mississippi while Harold served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge they moved back to Columbus. Verona worked for Dale Electronics for 19 years until retiring in 1985. She was Girl Scout Volunteer, Hospital Volunteer as a Surgery Hostess, past president of the Clean Community System, Columbus Area Artist Group Volunteer, Dale's Credit Union Board Member and a Charter Member of the Toastmaster Dale's Pick of the Week. Verona was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and had been attending St. Isidore's with her family the past 5 years. While at St. Bonaventure she was active as an EME, Parish Council and the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by:

Nine Grandchildren: Stephanie Horton, Tina Fagan, Jesse Benda, Ashlee Ebel, Whitney Ebel, Jena Kobus, Nathan Kobus, Alexandra Miller, Nikki Miller
Four Great Grandchildren: Connor Fagan, Carson Fagan, Jacob Horton, Cameron Clements
