Charlene M. Vetick of Columbus died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Charlene M Vetick was born May 17, 1937 to Frank and Mabel (Brand) Carman in Algona, IA. Charlene grew up in Silver Creek, NE and graduated from Silver Creek High in 1954. She moved to Grand Island in 1981 where she worked for 12 years as a nurse's aid and CSM at the Veterans Home. She then moved to Columbus in July 2000. Charlene was Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 281 in Silver Creek and taught Catechism at St Lawrence Parish in Silver Creek. Charlene volunteered at the Center for Survivors from 2002 to 2008 and was voted Volunteer of the Year in 2005. Charlene enjoyed working puzzles and embroidery and she was a fan of Randy Travis music and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She was a member of St Anthony Church in Columbus.
