James Delane Wallin, age 74, of rural Platte Center died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at his home in rural Platte Center. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Rosehill Evangelical Free Church in rural Newman Grove. The Rev. Clifford Branson will officiate. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #73-Newman Grove. Visitation is Friday 5-8 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home and Saturday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

James Delane Wallin was born May 28, 1931 in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Emil and Dorothy (Bley) Wallin. He graduated from Newman Grove High School. He entered the United States Air Force on December 30, 1950 and served until November 26, 1954 as a Staff Sgt. He married Adelheid Koster in 1953 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon his discharge he lived in Columbus where he worked at Behlen Manufacturing. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, horseback riding and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Brother: Ralph (Mildred) Wallin of Lincoln, NE
Sisters: Anna Mae Lyon of Columbus & Edith Staub of Fremont, NE 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
