Phillip Walker, 59, of Columbus died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in Omaha. Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday; August 14, 2004 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. The Rev. David Fulton will officiate. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil, all at the McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday morning 8-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be directed to the families choice.
Phillip Walker was born March 16, 1945 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Victor G. and Velda (Hudson) Walker. He grew up in Louisiana where he graduated from St. Francisville High School in 1962. He entered the United States Air Force in 1964 and served during Vietnam until 1968. He received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology & Sociology from Kearney State College. On August 7, 1971 he married Micki Mullally in St. Charles Bartholomew Catholic Church in North Bend, Nebraska. He lived in various places before settling in Columbus in 1981. He served as a federal food inspector in Schuyler until April 2000. He loved to fish, golf, watching his kid's activities, singing and watching the Cubs. He was member of St. Bonaventure Church, Knights of Columbus #938 and the V.F.W. Post #3704.
