Elizabeth "Betty" P. Zuerlein, 77, of Columbus died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Meridian Gardens in Columbus. Services are 10:30 am Wednesday, January 31 at St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Damian Zuerlein officiating. Visitation is on Tuesday after 5 pm at St. Isidore Church with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm, also at the church. Visitation continues Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until service time at St. Isidore Church. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Elizabeth "Betty" Zuerlein was born August 25, 1929 in rural Humphrey to Joe T. and Marie (Korth) Wegener. She was raised in Humphrey and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1947. On August 26, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to Victor Zuerlein. They moved to Columbus in 1961 where Betty raised her family and worked for Gibson's Pharmacy for a number of years. Betty was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where she was an EMHC and a member of Christian Mothers. She also was a member of an extension club. She did volunteer work at the school and at the Simon House. Betty loved making quilts, traveling, gardening, bird watching, and going to her grandchildren's events.
