Raphael "Ray" P. Zoucha, 74, of Columbus died Friday, August 11, 2006 as a result of cancer, at Columbus Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 16 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Carl Zoucha officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4-7 with a 7 pm Vigil, all at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 8-9:30 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony School or to the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation.

Raphael "Ray" Zoucha was born March 24, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, NE to Stanley and Clara (Kosinski) Zoucha. He grew up on the family farm near Cedar Rapids and attended Boone County Schools. Ray served in the US Army from 1953-1954 serving in Germany and France. On September 7, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Rutten at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Ray and his family settled in Columbus where he worked for Becton-Dickinson from 1964 until retiring in 1993. Ray was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, the Knights of Columbus, and VFW. He enjoyed outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
