Dorothy M. Rosenthal, 79, of Platte Center died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. Visitation is on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at St. Joseph's Church with a Vigil service at 8:00 pm, also at the church. Visitation continues Wednesday morning from 9-9:30 am at the church. Interment is in Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery in rural Platte Center. Memorials are suggested the American Diabetes Association.

Dorothy Rosenthal was born November 8, 1926 in Krakow, NE to Edmund and Mary (Barnash) Jarecki. She grew up in rural Platte Center where she attended schools at Okay and St. Anthony Grade School before graduating from Platte Center High School in 1945. On September 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Larry Rosenthal at St. Joseph's Church in Platte Center. Dorothy was a housewife and bookkeeper for her husband. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she loved her Catholic faith, she served as a church EME, CCD teacher, and was a member of St. Anne's Sodality. She was also a community volunteer and was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy loved gardening, bowling, fishing, watching football, and playing cards.
