W. Curtis "Curt" Scoville, 69, of Columbus died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. Services are 10:30 am Thursday at St. Luke's Congregational Church-UCC with the Rev. Nancy Peebles officiating. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 am Thursday at the church. Interment is in the Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Thursday in St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
W. Curtis "Curt" Scoville was born December 12, 1934 in Nickerson, Nebraska to Wilbur and Verna (Benfer) Scoville. He attended Nickerson and Fremont schools growing up and graduated from Fremont High School in 1952. He went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated in 1957 with a Bachelors of Education in Mathematics. He entered the US Army and served from 1957-1961. He married Pam Jacobs on August 10, 1957 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He moved to Columbus in 1961 where he went to work for Dale Electronics, retiring in 2000. He worked as a purchasing agent and was in charge of inventory control while at Dale's. Curt enjoyed reading, golf, working outdoors, working on his computer, traveling, photography, watching the Sandhill Cranes in the spring, watching the ducks in the fall during their migration, and Nebraska Football. He was a member of St. Luke's Congregational Church.
