Mary Ann Schroeder, age 74, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Visitation is 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A Family Prayer Service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday also at the church. A Private Family Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery at a later date.
Mary Ann Schroeder was born July 18, 1931 in David City, Nebraska to Jerry and Antonie (Tichi) Divisek. She was baptized at Dwight Assumption Catholic Church and was confirmed in 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rising City. She graduated from David City High School. On September 19th, 1948 she was united in marriage to Martin H. Schroeder at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Millerton, Nebraska. The couple farmed in Butler County for 21 years, before moving to Columbus in 1972. Mary Ann worked as a deputy for the Platte County Treasurer Office for 20 years. She enjoyed painting, artwork, calligraphy, the outdoors, and loved animals. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. Mary Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
