Anton "Tony" Schneider, age 85, of David City formerly of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday, August 7, 2005 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. Memorial Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Reverend Bill Ritter officiating. There is no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
Anton "Tony" Stephen Schneider was born November 21, 1919, in Superior, Wis., to Anton and Elizabeth (Kovac) Schneider. He married Dorothy Marie Lippold on June 28, 1944 in Omaha, NE He worked as a linotype operator for several newspapers in Avoca, Iowa, Columbus, NE, Torrington, Wyoming and surrounding areas. He also worked in agriculture sales throughout the Midwest. He was a business owner and operated the Y Motel in York, NE, Lark Bar in Columbus, NE, "O" Street Liquor in Lincoln and was a sales associate for Gateway Realty before retiring in 1982.
He was a resident of St. Joseph's Villa in David City since March. He was a past member of Eagles Club, Optimist Club, Board of Realtors and the Lions Club. He enjoyed reading. He owned and piloted his own plane.
