Priscilla M. Scharff, age 97, of Columbus, NE died Friday, January 6, 2006 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 am Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation is on Monday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 6:30 pm Monday, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Tuesday from 8:00 -10:00 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the families choice. There will be a lunch served in the church basement following the services.
Priscilla M. Scharff was born November 15, 1908 in Columbus, Nebraska to Bert John and Susan (Gibbs) Preston. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1926 and attended Hastings College. Priscilla went to work for Harold Kramer at Loup Public Power as his legal secretary. She married Paul E. Scharff on September 9, 1940 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. Following their marriage the couple then lived and farmed northwest of Columbus. Priscilla was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of St. Isidore Church, Christian Mothers, Church Choir, Church Women United, Omaha Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, Charter Member of the Oak Leaf Extension Club and a Life Member of the Platte County Historical Society.
