Eleanor Podraza, 90, of Columbus died Thursday, November 23 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday, November 25 at St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Miksch officiating. Visitation is after 6 pm Friday at St. Isidore Church with a Vigil service at 7 pm Friday, also at St. Isidore Church. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 9 am until service time at the church. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Silver Creek. A lunch will follow at St. Lawrence Parish Hall in Silver Creek.
Eleanor Ann Podraza was born February 17, 1916 to Charles and Mary (Podraza) Valasek in Nance County, Nebraska. She attended rural school in Nance County. On October 25, 1936, she married Frank A. Podraza at Krakow in rural Genoa, Nebraska.
She lived most of her life in Nebraska, outside of a time when she lived in Chicago, IL. She worked at the Shirt Factory in Columbus and at Dale Electronics (Vishay) in Columbus. She lived on a farm between Silver Creek and Genoa for a short time and then spent most of her life in Silver Creek. She lived in Lexington from 1991 to 1996 then moved to Columbus. She was a member of St. Isidore's Parish.
