H. Beal Penington, age 89, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday, November 21, 2005 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Reverend Bill Ritter officiating. Burial is in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home and 12:00 noon - service time Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or donors choice.

H. Beal Penington was born February 17,1916 in Neligh, Nebraska to Charles Ray and Dorothy (Beal) Penington. He graduated from Kramer High School in 1934. Beal married Ruth Alta Schram on April 9, 1944 in Ponca, Nebraska. She died November 5, 1970. He later married Karen (Worley) Smith on August 4, 1983 in Yankton, South Dakota. Beal lived in Columbus his entire life where he owned and operated Penington Electric and then worked for Cornhusker Public Power District until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eagles Club where he was a Golden Eagle and was active in the Boy Scouts for over 35 years.

Sister: Dorothy (Eldon) Ervin of Grand Island, NE
