George D. Olson, age 79, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday May 26, 2003 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday May 30, 2003 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
George D. Olson was born January 12, 1924 in Platte County, Nebraska to Emil and Anna Borchers Olson. He received his education at Kramer High School in Columbus. He entered the United States Army in 1943 and served until 1945. He was married to Rose J.T. Kosiba on February 10, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska. George and Rose lived in Columbus where George worked as a self employed carpenter for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where he served as an usher.
