Hazel E. Olcott, age 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday April 28, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday May 3, 2004 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Reverend Bill Ritter officiating. Burial is in the Bellwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Donors Choice.
Hazel Olcott was born January 20, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank and Liz (Petersen) Andersen. She married Harley L. Olcott on May 5, 1940 in Papillion, Nebraska. The couple lived in Omaha before moving to Columbus in the 1940's. Hazel owned and operated the 7-Mile Inn south of Columbus until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Bellwood Legion Auxiliary. Hazel enjoyed gardening and going to the horse races and casinos.
