In Memory of Helen "Elaine" Giannou

Helen "Elaine" Giannou, age 78, of Columbus died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Funeral service are10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2008 at the McKown Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Margaritas will officiate. Visitation is Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Helen "Elaine" Giannou was born December 24, 1929 in Bayard, Nebraska to James and Stella (Malinos) Rakes. She grew up in Bayard where he family farmed. Following her graduation from Bayard High School she moved to Omaha where she worked at Northwestern Bell. She married George Giannou on November 26, 1961 at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Omaha. They moved to Columbus in 1965. Elaine worked at Tran-Tec for over 30 years.
