Name: Roger & Karen Cooley commentsSue, Jodi and family. We can be thankful that the illness is over. It has taken Don to a far better place where we will rejoin him at a later date. He was one of the best friends that I have ever had, and I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that. Jodi, I know that following in your dad's foot steps, you are just as great of a parent as he was and he is looking down with a smile and he is proud. Name: Deb Pinney and family commentsJodi and family: My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I worked with your dad for several years with the Sheriff's Office in Osceola. Many Saturdays or Sundays he would pull up a chair and we would have our "weekly" discussions. I called him several times after he moved away and have always deeply missed him here. He was a true friend and I will miss him. Name: JODI REZABEK commentsDAD, I ALREADY MISS YOU SO MUCH. I WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST DAD A GIRL COULD EVER HAVE. I PROMISE I WILL TALK TO YOU EVERYDAY AND NEVER FORGET ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT YOU TAUGHT ME. I TOLD YOU ON MONDAY THAT I'LL BE OK ----- AND I WILL. I PRAYED EVERDAY FOR THE GOOD LORD TO TAKE AWAY YOUR SUFFERING, NOW, YOU ARE NOT SUFFERING ANYMORE AND CAN WATCH OVER ME AND THE KIDS. I LOVE YOU!!! Name: Dan Armstrong Jr commentsI spent a few years in the security business and got to know Don quite well. He was always available to give me advice when I needed it. Because of him I was a better person. Thank God for his friendship. My sympathies to the families of Don. Name: Mr. & Mrs. Chuck Stone commentsOur deepest sympathy for your loss. We shared our love of music and horses. He will be missed. Our prayers are with you. Name: Tammy Dolezal commentsI have many fond memories of "DLJ" as we called him. My dad, Don Franzen, was the Sheriff of Platte County when I was growing up and Don "DLJ" was one of our favorite deputies. One special memory was a sheriff department party at our house with DLJ playing his guitar and entertaining us with favorite songs. He was a bright light in this world and now in a brighter place. May the Lord hold you all in his loving arms and give you strength and peace. Tammy (Franzen) Dolezal and family Name: Tim Siemek commentsJodi and Susie, I started as a Deputy Sheriff in the Columbus Sheriff's office in 1974 when I was 21 years old. Don was my mentor. He taught me how to be a professional and dedicated law enforcement officer. I grew as an officer and as a person by having him as a close friend. I looked up to him and admired his firm but fair mannerisms. He was my hero back in those early days of our careers. He was well respected in the law enforcement brotherhood and will be missed. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. He was truly a good man. I will remember him in my prayers. Name: Kathy Bomberger & family commentsDear Jodi, Rick and children........please accept the sympathy of our family upon the death of your dad, father in law and grandfather. I knew Don since he was in grade school and then eventually as part of our family. May your memories keep him in your heart. |
