Our sympathy, Gene and Mary Ellen Name: pam dubas commentsTo Jon and Vickie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and family. Take care. Name: Shauna Czarnick commentsAfter hearing Roy passed away I got to thinking of memories of Roy. Throughout our childhood some of my siblings and I would wait at the end of our driveway, almost every day during the summer, for him to deliver our mail. We looked forward to seeing him as he was a very pleasant person and would stop and chat a brief moment with us then be on his route. He always had a smile on his face when he was approaching us. As a child little did I know that I would someday marry his great-nephew! It was neat to read how involved he was in the community and we hope our sons can become active scout members too. May you hold memories of Roy close to your heart and find hope knowing you will be with him someday in heaven. God Bless! Name: Kevin and Susan Mellott commentsPlease accept our condolences. We meet Roy and Velma through Dee Borchers. Roy enjoyed traveling and came to visit us in Utah. We remember the bathtub in the RV piled full of rocks and all the garage sales we attended. GOD BLESS Name: Jodie (Bardsley) Burger commentsI am so, so, sorry to hear of your loss of Roy, When I lived on the farm in Monroe, he was our mailman.. And one time we took a tour of his polished rock museum, My little brother's were so amazed at this.. they took a little jar of sand from the road, put it in the mailbox, and sure enough, a couple months later, there were the little jar, with all the shiny, pretty rocks..My brother's thought he was soooo cool. Robin, you have my sympathies also.. love, Jodie Name: Bonnie J M Peach & Family commentsVelma and Family, We send our deepest sympathies. Roy will be missed by our family. We have known Roy from when we were neighbors by Platte Center. And he was our mailman forever. When we were kids, Roy always showed Movie reels of cartoons at the auditorium and then Santa came with a bag of candy, peanuts & an apple. Then the old reels would break and Roy had to splice them & the kids were ready for Santa to come!! A lot of good memories. Jesus will be with you. We have you in our prayers. Gods Blessings. Love Bonnie & Family Name: Larry & Elsie Loseke commentsVelma and family, Please accept my condolences to you. I remember when Roy worked for my dad Mervin and I hated to see him leave when he went to work as a Rural carrier. As you remember, I was 1 of the 19 young men Roy helped to become Eagle Scouts as well as Vigil in the Order of the Arrow. I remember the many camping trips: the 1 week trip down the Platte River to Plattsmouth in July when there wasn't any water in the river & we had to drag the canoes, the 50th Anniversary Jamboree in Omaha where our Eagle Patrol won ALL the awards, the many cold nights spent in our Old sack in the pasture. Roy was chosen to be Troop 66 Scoutmaster and I was his Quartermaster to the Boy Scouts 50th Anniversary Jamboree in Valley Forge (1964) where 1 of his Patrols took 2nd in the nation for physical fitness. Roy will be missed by the many young men whose lives he helped to shape. Larry Name: Veronica C. Kiuntke commentsLee, Diane and family: I was so sorry to hear about your father's death.
