Gloria M. Heft, 82, of Columbus died Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Services are 10:30 am Friday, March 9 at the North Park Baptist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Lyn Hansen officiating. Visitation is on Thursday from 3-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. The graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at the Sunset Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the North Park Baptist Church. Gloria M. Heft was born April 2, 1924 in Burbank, California to Tip and Eva (Dixon) Whiting. She grew up in Burbank and attended Burbank High School. Gloria married Edwin Heft on January 25, 1942 in Burbank. She worked at Lockheed Aircraft before moving to Nebraska. Gloria came from a big town to a little house far in the country. She was a pioneer woman who came from modern houses to a country home with a wood stove to cook on and no running water. She loved to crochet, read, cooking, and having fun with her grandkids and great grandkids. She is survived by:
