Donald J. Korus, age 82, of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.  Funeral Services are 10:30 am Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with the Reverend Dave Fulton officiating.  Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at McKown Funeral Home.  Visitation continues Friday morning from 8:00 -10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.

Donald J. Korus was born March 14, 1925 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Adam and Leocadia (Flakus) Korus. He grew up in the Tarnov area and married Anna "Fern" Keeler on October 5, 1957. They moved to Omaha and then to Harlan, Iowa for a brief time until returning to Columbus in 1967. Don worked for Fleischer Manufacturing and then at Orion until retirement. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Donald was the last of a generation. He was the last living grandchild of Andrew and Augusta (Roy) Korus who in 1880 immigrated to the United States from the Tarnov, Poland area, then on to Tarnov, Nebraska.

Grandson: Romuleus Merriman of Fremont, NE

He also was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
