Growing up my father Rich was very good friends with Martin and Mary Ann. I spent countless hours with them at their house and any where they went I always got to tag along. They treated me like one of their own, and I always felt like they were like another set of Grandparents. I loved Martin's funny tales and his constant teasing. His accent and voice will be forever in my heart. I miss their hugs and their treats. I am glad Martin is finally with his bride again. I miss you both! Love, Darci Anderson Name: Tim Starostka commentsIt was a sad day for me to read of Martins passing. There are many fond memories of Martin and Mary Ann on 10th street. There are surely some happy reunions up above. May God bless all of the family and friends and comfort you in your time of loss. Name: Rick Grubaugh commentsTo the Schroeder family, A couple of weeks ago a young girl who works at the rest home where Martin resided came home from work noticibly emotional and with a lot of redness in her eyes. When asked what troubled her she stated, "Martin just isn't doing well and I am so sad cause he is just the nicest guy. He is always so pleasant even when he is not feeling well. I am so scared he is not going to make it much longer." With Martin's work on earth completed and his personality effecting people to his last days God has taken a great son to be even closer to his side. God bless you all Rick Grubaugh Name: Craig & Patti Vincent commentsJackie, Jim and families: Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Thinking of all of you and sending our Love Rob and Cheryl Name: Ed commentsTo The Schroeder Family, Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on the death of Martin. Martin like Mary Ann were wonderful family friends and their kindness will always be remembered. Those two took great care of my Aunt Leona and my Uncle Gene and for that I'm very grateful. If the world had more of this type of people it would be a much better place. We Love You Ed & Gail Walters Name: Corky Cordes commentsUp to April 1956 when Cliff and Marjorie Cordes still lived in Butler County Nebraska, they would take their two, then three, then four kids over to Schroeder's on a Friday or Saturday night...and the fun would soon begin. My Mom, "Marge" would admonish Gail, Clifton, Peggy and Kevin to BEHAVE while there...BUT.. just WHO ? was doing the misbehavin' ? It wasn't a full evening until all four adults had screamed, hooted, hollered and laughed until they cried. And we kids had a grand time too ! Martin and Mary Ann Schroeder were the bestest of friends for my folks and there is a hole in my heart today knowing I won't get to eat ice cream with them again. God Bless you Schroeders who follow after, Corky Cordes, also known as Clifton D.Cordes Name: Bill commentsMSN I NIIPET MSN |
