In Memory of Phyllis Volnek

Phyllis Volnek, age 75, of Columbus, Nebraska died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  Funeral Services are 10:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2007 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Weisbecker officiating.  Visitation is on Friday from 3-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a 7 pm Vigil, also at the funeral home.  Visitation continues Saturday morning from 8-9:30 am at the funeral home.  Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.  The will be a lunch served at the American Legion following the graveside services.

Phyllis Volnek was born January 19, 1932 in Merrick County to Adam and Frances (Shemek) Vetick. She grew up in the Silver Creek area where she graduated from Silver Creek High School. She moved to Columbus where she was united in marriage to Andrew Volnek on April 24, 1956 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Phyllis worked at Tooley Drug for 21 years and also worked at Daylight Donuts. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Phyllis was a baseball fan, enjoyed crossword puzzles, dancing and her grandchildren.
