Glenn was a true gentleman in every respect and I'm honored to have known him. May God give you all comfort and strength. Name: Nancy Henderson commentsI am a friend of Glenn's sister, Jeanette, who shared with me the news of Glenn's passing. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet Glenn, but I respect him greatly for his 42 months of service to our nation in World War II. The departure of yet another of our "Greatest Generation" leaves us all a bit poorer. I send you all my condolences and will remember you in prayer. Nancy Henderson Name: JEANETTE & LES MORTENSEN commentsGLENN WAS A SPECIAL BROTHER TO ME AND I WILL MISS HIM .. HE WAS TRULY ONE OF .... "THE GREATEST GENERATION" NOW REMINDED TO US IN TOM BROKAW'S BOOK OF THAT GENERATION WHICH WE WERE A PART OF AT WW 11 MY SYMPATHY GOES TO DOROTHY AND TOM/LYNNE AT THIS TIME. JEANETTE & LES Name: Steve and Janel Skerl commentsDear Aunt Dorothy, Tom, and Lynn, As a little girl, I remember Uncle Glenn most clearly for the warm smile and the twinkle in his eyes. I thought he was pretty close to Santa Claus. I remember especially one time when I was playing with my cousins in your basement and Uncle Glenn came downstairs to begin making ice cream. I believe it was a hand-cranked ice cream maker that a few of the men took turns operating, including Tom. Maybe it was just my being so young, but I can still feel the excitement in the air of having good, old-fashioned, churned ice cream. Uncle Glenn winked at me when he went back upstairs, as if we shared a secret of how good it was going to be. And it was remarkably creamy! Uncle Glenn was such a tall, imposing guy to this little girl. But it didn't take long to see how warm and friendly he really was. I will carry that piece of him with me always. I'm sure he will be with you in many ways, always. Our sincere condolences to you at this time. Love, Janel and Steve Name: Rick Grubaugh commentsDorothy, My uncle Al and Aunt Bess always said so many nice things about you and Glenn. That speaks volumns. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
