Leonard Bosak, age 87, of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Genoa Long Term Care in Genoa, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation is 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with an 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Wednesday morning from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Leonard V. Bosak was born October 4,
1919 in Nance County, Nebraska near Fullerton to Peter and Vera (Torson)
Bosak. He grew up on a farm and attended country school in Nance County.
Leonard joined the army and served in Europe during WWII. He was a
member of the 70th Engineer Light Ponton Company. On July 4, 1954
Leonard was united in marriage to Frances Starostka at St. Lawrence
Catholic Church in Silver Creek, Nebraska. The couple lived in Fullerton
while Leonard worked for Swift and Co., then moved to Columbus where
they spent most of their married life. Leonard worked many years for the
Union Pacific Railroad. He then went to work for the Columbus Public
Schools Maintenance Department until his retirement. Frances passed away
in 1994. He is survived by: Daughter: Carol (Allen) Nelson of
Genoa, NE He was preceded by: Wife: Frances Bosak
