In Memory of Evelyn "Tootsie" Bray
Evelyn D. Bray of Columbus died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the Cottonwood House in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus. The Rev. Michael Klatt and Rev. Ernest Smith will officiate. Visitation is Sunday 4-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home and Monday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery. Evelyn D. Bray was born May 7, 1915 in Leigh Nebraska to Daniel and Minnie (Greser) Bauman. She grew up in Colfax County where she received her education. She was married to Clarence Bray on December 14, 1940 in Fremont, Nebraska. Along with being a homemaker she and Clarence owned and operated the Royal Motel in Columbus for 15 years. Clarence died on September 27, 1985. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and active at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and playing sheephead.
