Virginia Laird

Virginia W. Laird, 87 of Columbus died Friday, May 19, 2006 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. The Rev. Dr. Paul Rowoldt will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues 1 hour before the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery.

Virginia W. Laird was born October 18, 1918 in Columbus, Nebraska to Carl and Ida (Franzen) Webster. In 1931 she moved to Omaha. Virginia graduated from Omaha Benson High in 1937. She then attended Boyles Business College where she graduated in 1939. She married Alfred Laird on April 7, 1942 in Wahoo, Nebraska. They lived in Omaha until 1969 when they moved to Alexandria, Virginia. In 1990 they returned to Columbus. She was a Gold Star Mother.

She is survived by:

Granddaughter: Elin Laird-Moore of Woodstock, GA
Grandson: Jason Laird of Idaho Falls, ID

Daughter-in-law: Laura Laird Spencer of Idaho Falls, ID
