Tanya & family. Sorry to hear about your father's passing. I know from my own parents passing there are never the right words to say or hear. Trust me He will always be with you no matter what. I always find it odd when I'm not having the best day and next thing you know is that special song we had played on their video comes on the radio and it just brings back the memories of everything. If you need someone to talk to I'm here for you. Stay strong and God will guide you through this tough and difficult time. God Bless Cindy, Colleen, Erica, Kelcy, & Andrew Funke

Dear Kay and family, I have great memories of David from the choir at First United Methodist Church. I always admired him as shared his love of music and his love of family with the congregation. I especially enjoyed watching him work with your son, David. He will be missed. Carla Jo Maltas

Dear Kay and family, I hold such fond memories of you, Dave and your small children when we were all part of the Bible study in earlier years. Dave was such a warm and caring person and he will be greatly missed. He is now with loved ones who have gone before and he will be waiting for you. I'm sure he and Wayne are doing some 'catching up'. If I can do anything to help you through this, please don't hesitate to call. Love to all of you, Tanya

Dear Kay & Family, The comments about Dave during the service this morning got me to thinking about his interactions with my own children as they were growing up. It is certainly true that children were attracted to him and vice versa. I remember a time after church when I actually thought that Dave was going to go home with Matthew in his arms, Matt was that comfortable with Dave. It wasn’t until they actually got to the door that Matt realized he wasn’t with mom or dad. I also recalled his friendly teasing of Becky, greeting her with “Rebecca Sue, How do you do?” Clearly both kids responded to Dave as almost a distantly related uncle. Perhaps more than many I will miss Dave’s gift for singing, because of serving together in the Chancel Choir for so many years. He was someone we could always count on to be present when the choir sang and his self-deprecating remarks would keep us from getting too serious and allow us to laugh at ourselves. We will miss his strong, clear voice in the bass section. There are undoubtedly many other memories of Dave that will come to the surface over the coming days and weeks, but I wanted to share these with you now. God Bless, Tim Owens
