Emil C. Zoucha, 88, of Columbus died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 am Tuesday, March 28 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Rev. Del Lape officiating. Visitation is on Monday from 4-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil Service to follow at 7 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues Tuesday morning from 8-10 am at the funeral home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Church or Sacred Heart. Emil C. Zoucha was born July 7, 1917 in Tarnov, NE to Joseph E. and Cecilia (Torczon) Zoucha. He received his elementary education in Tarnov. He served in the US Army from 1942-1945 during World War II in the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic Oceans transporting supplies and guarding our ships. On October 21, 1947 Emil married Irene Korgie at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. He lived the majority of his life in Columbus. Emil was employed as a welder at Irrigation Pump, Wemhoff Manufacturing, Henke Machine, and was also a partner in a well drilling business. He loved to play cards, watch baseball and football games, bowl, play golf, and enjoyed yard work. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus where he ushered for over 30 years, bingo club, welcome committee, nocturnal adoration, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council #9264, and was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Hartman Post #84.
