commentsGertie was my great aunt. I remember going to her house when I was younger and visiting. A special memory I have of my Aunt Gertie, she gave my sister and I each $5.00 when our parents were taking us to Disneyland. We thought that was a special treat. Thanksgiving of 1987 (I believe) my dad drove from Fremont to Columbus to pick her up so she would be able to spend the day with our family. I have since moved to Washington and when I would come and visit I would ask her questions about our family history. The information she was able to share with me I will always remember and treasure. We will miss you Aunt Gertie. I know you our with our God and visiting with all your family and friends. God Bless, Janie Clopper
commentsI remember Gertie when I was a little girl. She worked for my dad at Brenner Furnture. I sold many Girl Scout cookies to her in the many years I knew her. She was a very special lady. May she rest in the arms of Jesus. Barb Brenner Crooker
commentsI will miss Gertie more than anyone could know. I called her my "adopted" mother. She took care of me when I was a baby and I spent many, many weekends at her house from before I was in Kindergarten to the time when we moved from Columbus when I was in high school. She always made me feel so special. I'll miss her but I know she's happy now with her little Carol Ann in heaven.
commentsI've know Aunt Gertie since 1959 when I married her nephew, Bill Svatora. She was always interested in hearing about the family. I've tried visiting Aunt Gertie once a month since she was in the nursing home. She was a lovely lady and she will be greatly missed. |
