commentsHow sad we were to hear of Clara's passing. In a short month she would have been 100 and how she looked forward to that day. I think we were all hoping that she would make it. Our sympathy and prayers go out to her family members and it is good to know she is at rest. Clara enjoyed everyday and lived her life to the fullest. God Bless her. Dick and Betty
commentsI was always so proud to say Clara is my Godmother. Even though she once told me that she was Godmother to half the town of Duncan. It was always a terrible experience for me as a youngster, to sit still while my mother visited with Clara and Victoria. Some times it seemed to be hours, but it probably wasn't. Now, I am quite sure they have a lot of news to catch up on! Clara was a big part of our family and will be missed by all. Bob & Gail Staroscik
commentsOur deepest sympathy to Clara's family. Frank & Frances Ziemba
commentsOur sympathy goes out to all the relatives of Clara. We knew her very well and she stood up for us at our wedding. She will be missed by all. Have many wonderful memories of her.
commentsMy condolences to the entire Skorupa family on the death of your aunt Clara. What a special woman she was, and what an amazing life she led. I know she will be missed by everyone. She was the mainstay in Duncan for sure. I will pass on the news to all of the other cousins who are still around in Washington and knew Clara well. God bless.
commentsMy deepest sympathy to all of Clara's family. I was shocked to hear the news that she had passed away. When I last saw Clara in Duncan she was so excited about celebrating her 100th birthday, and the big party that she was going to have. I remember as a little girl staying with my Grandparents Bernard & Louise Sokol, that it was such a treat for me to walk to the post office to see Clara and get the mail. No one can forget her love of polka music and dancing, how she loved to dance. I loved her stories that she had to tell, and so did my sons as they grew up to know Clara. My dad John Sokol also used to tell me great stories about Clara. I didn't mean to ramble, but there are so many great things to remember, and such a short space to mention them all. Again, my thoughts and prayers to the entire family. A great woman will be missed deeply, and trips to Duncan will not be the same without her.
commentsWe were so looking forward to helping Clara celebrate her "100th" birthday next month, She was "one of a kind" and will be missed greatly, Our sympathy to her family and her friends.
commentsOur condolences to all of Clara's relatives. She was a special person and will be missed terribly. When we were little and visited Grandma Sokol in Duncan, Clara treated us like family. We visited her at her house, danced with her at polka dances, and spent some fun times at the Post Office/Bank with her. She was one in a million! Ginny and Ron Baptiste
commentsSo sorry to hear of Clara's passing. I attended high school in Duncan & parents ran grocery store in early to mid 60's. Have a ton of memories of Clara-all of them excellent. Don't think she had an enemy in the world, everyone was a friend to Clara. She will be sorely missed, but she has gone to a much better place. I plan on being there. Mary Jeanne
commentsMy deepest sympathy to the family of Clara. My mom, Harriett, and I promised Clara over two years ago that we'd come to Duncan and play some Polish music for her on her upcoming 100th birthday with a little party at the pub. I'll sure miss seeing her when visiting Duncan, she was always so wonderful to talk to and catch up on news of the relatives, and to see her latest quilting projects. I'm sure she's visitng with Grandpa Bernard Sokol and others that have gone before her right now. A true icon of Duncan is gone.
commentsMy deepest sympathies to Clara's family. I know she will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful person and we always looked forward to visiting her at the post office when we were little and went to Duncan to visit Grandma Ursula Sokol. My sisters and I loved dancing with her at various family weddings and reunions and hearing her stories. I also remember visiting her at her house and seeing her beautiful quilting. She always made time for us even when she was busy and we were little and most likely in the way. What a precious gift to a child to make them feel important! I am grateful for that and have alwasy considered her part of our family. With fond remembrance, Denise Sokol
commentsI send my sympathy and prayers to the family of Clara. I have known her all my life living in Duncan for for over 40 years. She was always a delight to be aaround and have conversation with. Anyone who know Clara thought the world of her. She enjoyed being around others; at the bar after church on Sunday having her coffee or red beer. Everyone will miss her smile and outgoing personality. She will be missed but Heavenly Father has welcomed her into His arms and is welcoming her home. Again I offer my prayers to the family and to Clara.
commentsMy parents asked me to send this on their behalf as they do not have a computer. They express their deepest sympathy to Clara's entire family. Dad recalled a story about Clara, as he played for many of the weddings there in Duncan, and Clara was always there. Clara was invited to every wedding whether she was related or not, as she would go from table to table and get everyone dancing. There were no wall flowers around when Clara was at a wedding, and when it came to dancing. Everyone danced when Clara was around, she stirred up the party. Again, we express our deepest sympathy to a legend lost.
commentsClara was a wonderful, fun, friend that we made while my brother and I had Jack's Place in Duncan. She would come in and visit with me in the afternoon and fill me in on all the town history. She was a joy and the town will miss her smiling face at every town function. She and I still exchanged Christmas cards. I always feel so bad when I see in the obitutuaries that most of my after church morning coffee group has passed on. We'll miss you Clara and the joy that you brought so many. God Bless and we'll say a prayer for the family tonight. Love, Barry and Mert Reimers
commentsHow saddened I was to read that Clara had passed on and so close to her 100th. Having grown up in Duncan you couldn't help but know this wonderful woman. I have a picture of her and I from Duncan's 125th celebration that I will treasure always! She will be truly missed.
commentsTo Clara's relatives: So sorry about Clara's passing away from this world. She was like a second mother to me. We used to write notes to each other when I was in high school, and we used to have so much fun with her at the old Post Office. I helped her rake leaves one year, and her mother came outside to tell her something, and we were gone. To guess where? For a drink! Were so looking forward to playing for her 100th birthday next month. She will be missed by all of us.
commentsOur deepest sympathy to all the families of Clara.May she rest in peace.God Bless all of you.
commentsI can't express how sad I was to hear of Clara's passing. I was so looking forward to helping her celebrate her 100th birthday. I will always remember Clara as such a happy, spritely person who loved life. She will be missed at family get-togethers at Frank and Peg's by our family as well as the Skorupa family. I'm sure she will be missed in Duncan as well. I can imagine that losing Clara was quite like losing a parent even though she was your aunt. You all have my deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Terrie Ewert and family
commentsClara was a very, very special lady. I missed her when I left Duncan and enjoyed visiting when I would see her. I know the family will all miss her a lot.
commentsBeing raised in Arizona I wasn't able to spend much time with Great Aunt Clara but I always looked forward to visiting with her on vacations, eating her great food and listening to her stories about my family.
