Gladys G. Iwansky, age 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Bergan Mercy Care Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with an 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Isidore Church. Visitation continues Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Gladys G. Iwansky was born April 9, 1920 in Polk County, Nebraska to Frederick J. and Johanna (Branigan) Cockson. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1937. On November 12, 1946 Gladys was united in marriage to Edward Iwansky at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Pilsno. She was a homemaker and later worked as office manager for Reese Wooden Shoe Company from 1973-1977 and then worked as a billing clerk for the City Water Department from 1977-1985. Gladys was a member of St. Isidore Church, Christian Mothers and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was an avid Husker Football fan and loved watching her grandchildren's activities.
