In Memory of Helen Marie Maurer
Helen Marie Maurer, 92, of Valentine, formerly of Columbus died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Cherry County Hospital in Valentine. Services are 11:00 am Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Federated Church in Columbus with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial is in Columbus Cemetery. Helen M. Maurer was born April 27, 1913 in Atkinson, NE to Stanley and Josephine (Peters) Pilakowski. She received her education in country school in Platte County and graduated from Genoa High School in 1931. She married Kenneth Maurer on March 12, 1932. They had two daughters, Betty and Lois. Helen worked at the West End Grocery in Columbus for 8 years and then at Woolworths for 19 years. Helen lived in Columbus until February of 2002, when she moved to Valentine to be with her daughter. She lived at Cherry Hills Assisted Living until April 2005 when she fell and broke her pelvis and moved into Pine View Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of the Federated Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of a bowling team for many years. Helen is survived by: Daughter Betty (Clarence) Danielski of Valentine Sister Isabelle Martin of Columbus Sister-in-law Rose Pilakowski of Genoa Son-in-law Harry Malakoff of New York City Seven Grandchildren: David Danielski of Bedford, IA, Donald (Felicia) Danielski of Valentine, Michael (Becky) Danielski of Valentine, Susan (Wayne) Paprosky of Chicago, Leonard (Linda) Danielski of Valentine, Thomas Danielski of Valentine, and Michelle Malakoff of New York. 13 Great Grandchildren: Wayne, Dale, & Chrystle Danielski of Bedford, IA, Chris Danielski of Lincoln, Jenny & Andy Danielski of Valentine, Nick Moser of Lincoln, Luke Moser of Valentine, Erica Moser of Los Angeles, CA, Tonia (Jason) Kaup of Valentine, Jay, Shannon, & Adam Danielski of Valentine Many Nieces and Nephews
Helen is preceded in death by: Husband Ken Maurer Daughter Lois Malakoff Parents Three Brothers One Sister
