In Memory of Roland E. Nyffeler

Roland E. Nyffeler, age 83, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care in Columbus.  Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Reverend Timothy White officiating.  Burial is in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.  Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the church with a 10:15 a.m. Family Prayer Service.

Roland E. Nyffeler was born October 31, 1922 in Columbus, Nebraska to Ernest and Henrietta (Weiss) Nyffeler. He attended District #5 School and graduated from Kramer High School in 1940. On June 13, 1946 Roland was united in marriage to Doris Marx at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Creston, Nebraska. The couple lived on the farm southwest of Columbus until moving to Columbus in 1973. Roland continued to farm until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elks Club, Izaak Walton League, V.F.W. and was an active supporter of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and making wine.
