Dennis Fendrick, age 73, of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Fremont Medical Center in Fremont, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Rev. Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial is All Saints Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
Dennis is the son of Anton and Annie (Maliha)
Fendrick. He was born on October 23, 1931 in the Wilson area of
Colfax County and attended Langley School. He graduated from Clarkson
High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean
War for 4 years in the communications area. He was honorably
discharged in 1954 and returned to the family farm. On June 18th,
1957 he married Joan Pfeifer at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. They
lived and farmed on the family's farm by Wilson Church near Clarkson.
He moved the family to Columbus, Nebraska in 1968. He worked for
Douglas and Lomason as a supervisor in the shipping department. He
then was employed by Wagner Mills in Schuyler. He
was currently working for Quality Industrial Sewing Machines in Grand
Island, Nebraska. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in
Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of Columbus; four
children, Teresa (Fred) Werner of Littleton, Colorado, Rita (Jim Jr.)
Rawhouser, Steve (Renee Christensen) Fendrick, and Micheal Fendrick,
all of Columbus. Six grandchildren; Jimmy, Wyatt, Trev, Stacia
Rawhouser, Jessica Werner and Christopher Fendrick. Four sisters;
Jeroma Pavel of Clarkson, Lillian (George) Reznicek of Dodge, Lorene
and Arlene Hegemann both of Howells. One sister-in-law, Irma Fendrick
of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four
brothers; Milo (Agnes) Fendrick, Lumir (Maurene) Fendrick, Jerome (Adella)
Fendrick and Loren Fendrick, one sister, Helen Fendrick. Two
grandchildren; Jeremy and Jason Werner. Three brother-in-laws; Adolph
Hegemann, Raymond Hegemann and Louis Pavel.
