Emma Borchers

 

Emma Borchers, 96, of Platte Center, died Monday, January 10. 2005 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus.  Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday; January 14, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church-Grand Prairie. The Rev. Theresa Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 3-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home and Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will n the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Emma C. Borchers was born February 17, 1908 in rural Platte County to Leopold and A. Elizabeth (Gehring) Siebler. She received her education in Platte County rural schools. She married Johnny Borchers on June 30, 1931 at Zion Lutheran Church-Grand Prairie. They farmed north of Monroe until 1979 when they moved into Platte Center and retired. Johnny passed away on October 5, 1988. Emma continued living in Platte Center until June 2001 where she entered the Columbus Manor. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church-Grand Prairie, a member of the Ladies Aide and Wattsville Club. Emma enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
