Dorothy Ida Ewert, age 89, of Columbus, Nebraska died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral Services 2:00 p.m. Friday; February 25, 2005 at St. Luke's Congregational Church. Visitation is Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home & on Friday from 1 pm until service time at St. Luke's Church. Interment is in Columbus Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Church Dorothy Ida Ewert was born April 26, 1915 in Platte County, Nebraska to George and Ida (Lemp) Tiaden. She attended Platte County School District #37 and graduated from Monroe High School in 1933. She married Oscar A. Ewert on June 3, 1937 in Columbus. Along with raising her family she worked at Dale Electronics, Gloor Bakery and Jordan Bakery. She was a member of St. Luke's Congregational Church, Lydia Circle, Women Fellowship, taught Sunday school and played the piano at church. She was a member and past commander of the D.A.V. Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the P.T.A. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and bowling. Dorothy is survived by:
