William "Bill" Olk died Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.  Funeral services are 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating.  Visitation is on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 7:30 pm, also at the funeral home.  Visitation continues Wednesday from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home.  Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

William "Bill" G. Olk was born April 28, 1927 in Cornlea, Ne to William J. and Alice (Schad) Olk. He grew up in Cornlea and Petersburg. He attended St. John's School, Petersburg High School, and trade school in Kansas City for 1 year. He served in the US Army in the military police during World War II from May 23, 1945 until November 18, 1946 in the European and African Theatres. He moved to Columbus in 1952 and married Mary Ann Temme on Nov. 5, 1955 in Petersburg. He was a self-employed plumber for 30 years before retiring in 1990 after failing health. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 12086, Catholic Order of Foresters, Holy Name Society, VFW Post #3704, and American Legion Post #84. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Daughter        Tami (Mickey) Clark of Columbus, NE 
Son                Mike (Hollie) Olk of Columbus, NE
Sister             Janet (Warren) Hays of Grand Island, NE 
Grandsons Austin, Chet, & Wade

Sister Elaine Stutz

Memorials are suggested to St. Isidore Grade School.
