Glen Dale Olafson

Glen Dale Olafson, age 77 of Silver Creek died Saturday; October 30, 2004 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral Service are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; November 4, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The Reverend Bev Hieb will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Glen Dale Olafson was born May 14, 1927 in Linwood, Ne to Jens & Emma (Janecek) Olafson. Glen grew up in Silver Creek and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1945. He then served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during World War II. He married Frances Mecek on May 29, 1950 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. They lived in Silver Creek where he was a partner in business at C&O Garage and later worked for Grosch Irrigation in Silver Creek for many years. He enjoyed visiting with friends, family and grandchildren. He was a 52 year member of the American Legion Post 263 Silver Creek.
