Jean Foltz

Jean Foltz, age 93, of Columbus died Saturday; January 31, 2004 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; February 5, 2004 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. The Rev. Joseph A. Miksch will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:00 p.m. at the Church. A vigil will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. also at the Church. Visitation will continue Thursday morning 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery-rural Humphrey. 

Jean A. Foltz was born February 10, 1910 in Humphrey, Nebraska to Clem and Alvina (Ruhkamp) Wemhoff. She received her early education at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis in 1928. She married Paul J. Foltz on May 1, 1934 in Humphrey. Along with raising her family she was a homemaker and helped on the family farm . She moved into Columbus in 1974. Jean was a member of St. Isidore Church, Charter Member of Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years, Christian Mothers and a founder of the St. Isidore Quilting Ladies. Jean was a past school board member of rural St. Anthony School. She had worked on the Platte County Election Board for 20 years and delivered meals on wheels. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs.
