In Memory of James D. "Jim" Treadway
James D. "Jim" Treadway, age 86 of Columbus, died Wednesday; February 18, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday; February 21, 2004 at the McKown Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 1-5 pm at the McKown Funeral Home and Saturday 9-10 am James D. "Jim" Treadway was born January 18, 1918 in Polk County, Nebraska to Lloyd Ernest and Edna Martha (Lockard) Treadway. He received his early education in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School in 1934. He farmed near Bellwood during this time. He was married to Dorothy Schlesinger on December 10, 1938. Jim served in the United States Army as a medical assistant form 1943 until 1946. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. Upon his discharge he moved to Columbus. He worked at the Reece Wooden Shoe Factory, Goetz Distributors and e Country Club Beer for several years. He drove a truck from 1955-1963 for Habco and at Behlen Manufacturing until 1980. He was a member of the American Legion Hartman Post #84, Fraternal Order of Eagles and AmVET. Jim is survived by: Daughter: Maxine (Roy) Benson of
