In Memory of Nancy J. McNair

Nancy J. McNair of Columbus , 72, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 9:00 am Saturday, Feb. 14 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus.  Visitation is after 3:30 pm Friday at McKown Funeral Home.  There will be a CDA rosary at 4:00 pm Friday and  Vigil service at 7:30 pm Friday, both at McKown Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8-8:45 am at the funeral home.  Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Nancy J. McNair was born November 16, 1931 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Russell and Margaret (Zerbst) Scanlan. She received her high school education at the Convent of the Sacred Heart High School. She continued her education at Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois and Duchesne College in Omaha receiving her B.A. in 1953. She marrried Daniel McNair on December 12, 1953 at St. Joseph Catherdral in St. Joseph, Missouri. She joined her husband in Munich, Germany where he was serving in the armed services, arriving in 1954 and returning to the United States in 1955. She has since resided in Columbus. She enjoyed her family, playing bridge, art and traveled extensively. Nancy spent the past seven and one half years battling cancer and her spirit and tenacity have been an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, participated in Eucharistic Ministry, Perpetual Adoration, Secular Franciscan, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Golden Debs Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
