In Memory of Carmela Raimondo

Carmela Raimondo, age 88, of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday, December 19, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital.  Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating.  Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. 

Funeral Services will also be held 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2004 in Lackawanna, New York at St. Anthony Catholic Church  with Reverend Peter Drilling officiating.  Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Lombardo Funeral Home in Orchard Park, New York.  Burial is in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawanna.

Carmela M. Raimondo was born January 22, 1916 in Lackawanna, New York to Antonio and Jenny (Zanzano) Turchiarelli. She grew up in Lackawanna, New York. On November 26, 1936 she was united in marriage to Phil Raimondo. The couple lived in Buffalo, NY. Phil passed away January 18, 1960. Carmela lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jeanne Raimondo, for many years moving with them to Omaha, Nebraska in 1977 and then to Columbus in 1982. She worked in the dry cleaning business and as a live-in babysitter for many couples in Omaha and Columbus. She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting and contributed several baby afghans to the Scotus Gala. Carmela loved to have coffee and conversation with her many friends who visited her.
