Benjamin L. Ciboron, age 80, of Maybee, MI died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at his home in Maybee. Services are 10:00 am Saturday, December 11, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. Visitation is on Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. There will be a Vigil service at 7:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Platte Center. Interment will be in Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery in rural Platte Center with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Benjamin Ciboron was born February 23, 1924 in Genoa, Nebraska to Frank and Mary (Chowek) Ciboron. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from June 1944 - May 1946. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal. Following his discharge he lived and farmed in the Platte Center area before traveling with M. H. Van Berg and later with Jack Van Berg as a horse trainer. He then settled in Michigan where he established the Sacred Winds Thoroughbred Farm in Maybee, Michigan . Bennie had a great love for his family, horses, and the Sacred Winds Thoroughbred Farm.
